Every year since 2008 Baltic Offshore Week has been held on both shores of the Finnish Gulf of the Baltic, and this year the venue was Kalev Yacht Club in Tallinn, site of the 1980 Olympic Sailing Regatta. For three days a total of 47 offshore sailing teams – 26 from Finland, 21 from Estonia and one from Russia –competed in ORC A, B and C classes in three inshore races and one offshore 60-mile race. Baltic Offshore Week 2018 – Lühirajasõidud trikitavas tuules

16.06.2018 – Teine päev Eesti ja Soome avamerepurjetamise ORC klassi meistrivõistlustel Pirital Kalevi Jahtklubis algas tuule ootamisega kaldal. Suvitajatele tegi alanud nädalavahetus ilma pärast kindlasti meele rõõmsaks, kuid purjetajatel on lisaks sinises taevas säravale päiksele ka tuult vaja. Keskpäeva paiku see oodatud briis merelt saabuski ning keerutavat tuult trotsides sai regatil Baltic Offshore Week peetud kaks lühirajasõitu vastutuule-allatuule rajal.
ORC A klassi liidriks tõusis kolme sõidu järel Sven Nuutmanni Eesti Meedia Sailing Team. ORC B klassis püsis liidrikohal Aivar Tuulbergi meeskond jahil Katariina II EST646 Pärnu Jahtklubist.
ORC C klassis on liidrikohal Heikki Vesalaineni Uhuru FIN10879 Soomest.
Multihull klassis hoiab regati liidrikohta Heikki Jürilo Cremefraes EST727.

Baltic Offshore Week 2018 – Pikk avamereetapp läbitud
Summary (in Estonian) of the Offshore Course at the Baltic Offshore Week 2018 in Postimees – the biggest news portal of Estonia.
Täna algas Tallinnas suur võidusõit Eesti ja Soome avamerepurjetamise ORC klassi meistritiitlitele regati Baltic Offshore Week raames. Regati pikim osa – avameresõidu etapp – oli pikkusega 55-60 miili ning valdavalt reipas tuules see reedel ka purjetatud sai. 47 ORC klassi meeskonda Eestist, Soomest ja Venemaalt olid stardiliinil, neile lisaks 3 mitmekerelist alust Eestist.
ORC A klassis, kus võistlemas 18 jahti, läks võit jahile Sugar 2 (Pärnu JK), mille kapteniks Marjaliisa Umb. 20 osavõtjaga ORC B klassi kindel võit läks Aivar Tuulbergi meeskonnale jahil Katariina II (Pärnu JK). Mõlemal meeskonnal on ette näidata ORC Euroopa meistritiitel. 9 osavõtjaga ORC C klassi kiireim oli Perttu Rönkkö jaht Penelope (HSK).

Information about the GPS tracking devices
Tracking devices will be available at the Race Office on June 15 since 8:05 am. Devices shall be returned to the Race Office for charging after Offshore Course.

Dear sailors! There is a Reval Cafe pop-up café in the Kalev Yacht Club marina, so you can have your breakfast right there. Different salads, pies, cakes, sandwiches are available. And of course coffee and drinks.
