Baltic Offshore Week 2018 has been declared open during the Opening Ceremony what took place on Thursday, June 14 at 6 pm in Kalev Yacht Club harbour. The Commodore of the Kalev Yacht Club, Kalev Vapper welcomed all sailors in Tallinn and wished then fair winds and great sportsmanship during the regatta.

He was also introducing Baltic Offshore Week and the history behind it. It will take place for the 11th time, and has been held since 2008 in Estonia and Finland.
BOW was ORCi and IRC class Estonian Championship in 2008 and 2009. Since 2010 ORC Estonian champions have been found out at the Moonsund regattas, but since 2014 BOW has been again the event to crown the ORC Estonian champions.
Participants 2018 – 47 ORC teams and 3 Multihulls
ORC A Class – 18 boats ; ORC B Class – 20 boats ; ORC C Class – 9 boats
22 from Estonia ; 25 from Finland ; 1 from Russia
ORC A Class – From 2017 Top 3 the winner Martin Estlander’s Xini Freedom (X-41) from Finland and Ott Kikkas’ Sugar 2 (NM38) are present also this year.
ORC B class – From 2017 Top 3 – all three are competing also in Tallinn – Aivar Tuulberg’s Katariina II (Arcona 340), Tuomas Riski’s (First 35) from Finland and My-Car with Harles Liiv helming (X-35).
Let’s see if Xini-Freedom and Katariina II will defend their titles of 2017.
ORC C class will start their offshore race from Helsinki and they will join the rest of the fleet in Tallinn on Saturday.
