In 2018 Finnish and Estonian ORC sailors have decided to join the powers and compete together on both sides of the Gulf of Finland. Altogether three events will be sailed as part of the FINEST OFFSHORE SERIES 2018 during the season.
Main principles of the series:
- to have more ORC boats together on the starting line while joining the fleets
- to create more high competitive and international level events in the area
- better preparation for the ORC title events
- majority of the races are inshore races on winward-leeward course
- every single race (not the overall result of the regatta) will be scored in the Series’ ranking
- FINEST Offshore Series 2018 will be the only ORC ranking for the Finnish Offshore Racing Association
- the regattas are open to all boats with a valid ORC measurement certificate
- the first three (3) best teams of the Series will be awarded with the trophies
- the events and scoring of the series are described in the Notice of Race of the Series
- to have more communication and mix&mingle with After Sail events
